X-Fights!

Last night the last comic in the buffer posted and it might be the last page for a while. Sorry to those of you who enjoy the comic, but my free time is dwindling rapidly. When I had started the comic I had only done a handful of art commissions, but these days I'm almost always working on a paying project for someone. A lot of my side projects have been ignored lately, including some that might turn profitable, and balancing those, the comic, commissions, my job, and family commitments is getting difficult... The comic is basically a really big side project in my life, and I have a lot less free time now than I did when I started this thing. 

This might be a temporary hiatus or a permanent one. Sorry to those of you who read the comic every day, and thank you all for reading and indulging my perverse humor.

First off, voting incentive has been updated to a (surprisingly SFW) preview of the next fight's arena without spoiling the fighters. Doing actual page work now that the fight is (mostly) pre-scripted, and still on schedule to resume updating next Monday, the 14th. Remember, X-Fights will be switching from 7 days to 5 days a week updates. Thanks for your patience!

Well gang, sorry for the radio silence the last few days. August 29th marked one month of X-Fights and today page 41 went live. I have everything up to page 45 queued up, which marks the final page of Hilde vs. Gab! I had said 47 pages previously, but trimmed the last 4 down to two pages. In retrospect I realize I really, really made Hilde look dumb these last few pages and drew out the fight unnecessarily. I apologize for that, and will try not to let details like that get away from me in the future. A new voting incentive has also been updated and set to go live tomorrow (whenever TWC puts them live), and on that I note I've taken some reader advice and made an original pic for the occasion. I plan to keep on doing so, but the drawback will be that there might not be more than a couple incentives a month. 

After posting comics every day for a little over a month, I'm going to be taking the next week+ off. Page 45 will go live Friday at midnight (GMT-5) and Page 46 will be posted on Monday the 14th. This gives me a week and two weekends to work on the next fight, so that I'll be able to keep fights going at a decent pace. Seven days a week is still pretty insane tho, so I'm going to give myself a slight break by cutting out Saturday and Sunday comics. So starting with the next bout, X-Fights will be switching to 5 pages a week, and I will likely take a week off between each fight to prep the next one. This will give me a little extra time to thin out the scripts and put out a better quality comic overall, as well as giving me more time to work on commissions.

Testing, testing...does anyone even read this blog? *crickets chirping* ... *tumbleweed*  Anyway! Backlog is done up to page 38, currently the Hilde vs. Gab battle ends on page 47. Also updated the voting incentive to a preveiw from page 38, when a guest arrives to the show! 

Currently the buffer is filled up to page 34, and I hope to crank out a page or two before the weekend. Also updated the voting incentive to a (heavily cropped) preview of page 34. Hilde and Gab aren't quite done yet! 

I'd also like to take a moment to thank everyone who has been reading the comic every day, and those of you voting on TWC. X-Fights went live on July 29th and I already have 18 subscribers, average 45+ page visitors a day, and most days are over 300 hits. I don't know how good those numbers really are, but to me they seem high for such a simple-themed niche comic.
