Greetin's cretins! boy am I tired. Been nonstop - literally nonstop - since Thursday night. Aint even had time to answer the smattering of messages I've gotten on my phone. So! If you've messaged me and I've ignored you, it's definitely because of that reason, and not any other reason, like you're just super, duper annoying Dave.
Went kayaking! 10 hours of it! Too many hours. Too many hours to kayak. Too many hours to yak your kay, is what I'm saying. There was a lot of other stuff in there but like, I'm tired of telling the story. Just make up your own story and I'll sign off on it.

We got meat! A lotta meat. Went to a Brazilian Steakhouse. Every time they came and asked if he would like some more meat he said yes. Every time. Not once did we turn the little meat thing to "red". I threw in the towel when he was only getting started. I took a nap and woke up and he was still going. I made up a whole other hyperbolic statement and he was still going!

Anywhomsoever we've got some nice pages coming up! I like the atmosphere in these. Cool, dark, quiet, peaceful. Nice change of pace. Some breathing room.

I was playing Spider-Man 2 last night and I ran into this EXACT thing while investigating The Lizard's lab, where a big yellow X was sitting over the evidence I was tasked to "find" so it's as relevant today as it was in 2001.
There are a few jokes that no longer apply. Most cutscenes are skippable nowadays, most games autosave, games don't come on multiple discs, that sorta thing.
I wonder whether it'd even be appropriate to make modern gaming jokes, since RPG World is canonically a late 90's PS1 game. I'd love to see some predatory DLC where you could buy a bikini for Reka for $2.99, or Hero can buy a really cool sword for 500,000 GP, or $5 USD. Maybe have Jim come back from a break, excited to play, and then there's a 60 GB update he has to wait to install, despite FF7's original file size only being 1,317 MB. I dunno. There's an untapped well of jokes by bringing in modern gaming, but it may feel disingenuous to the core concept of the comic. Regardless, you're doing just fine, so I trust your judgment whichever way you go.
You could try to claim that RPGW:FR is equivalent to FF7 Remake (or rather FF7 Rebirth, considering how far in FR started), except by an even more money-grubbing corporation, to get the modern-gaming jokes. And you even get to keep the "multi-disc" jokes by becoming multi-game!
