Wow, a phone booth. Oddly enough, strange to see. Interested to see this short story, and main story picked up again! Kudos

I guess there's a few pay phones still in existence but phone booths like this one suggests this dates to an alternate reality sometime in the late cold war era. A good time for end-of-the-world sci fi.

The last human on Earth would never know he/she was the last. In the case of Dr. Robert Neville portrayed by Vincent Price, Charlton Heston, and Will Smith he injected himself with an experimental vaccine, so he suspected that he was the last, but he wasn't.

Or Bidi calling to say "get out of the Dominatrix"
