The first remastered issue of the Ponderous Woman online comic book! Originally published on the Web in 1999!

I would be quite interested to see the very first version. I did my first digital art on the C64 and amiga, so seeing early authentique digital comics is interesting.

I remember the Amiga! I think Deluxe Paint was the first "art" program I ever saw. :) The image below is the top of page 2 of this first issue, as an example... When I originally posted these on my website each "panel" was just a separate image. Part of my "remastering" has been to fit them into a real comic-style page. By 2005 or so I was doing all of my comic work in the comic page format, so I feel like this is making the whole thing a little more consistent.

Deluxe paint was really outstanding, also Digi paint, far ahead of time. But even those art programs of the c64 (I forgot their name) had many features that still exist today. I assume there were similar programs on some earlier systems like the astonishing Terak. Sadly the earlist webcomic ever seems to be totally lost; I don't even know on which computer it was made.

"Ar-Men" was a comic I greatly admired in the early days of the Web. It was the one which gave me the nerve to try and put the PW online, although my abilities were pale in comparison. I wish I could find it! I can't even find it on archive.org unfortunately.

I haven't heard of it yet; there was a later comic by Lepage with the same name, what makes it more difficult to find. Looking around a bit, I saw this post from 2012 about another comic called Ar-men, no idea if it is related.

Yes! That was it! Wow! I could find one page of it using Archive.org's Waybackmachine - really neat! It would be lovely to see the complete set. I may reach out to the author, although it appears he has distanced himself from that early material and is now focusing on Christian-targeted subject matter.
Thank you for the discovery though!

I's that christian theme that turned me off from exploring further, but I am glad that I could help.
